So close. So very close. The flashlight-wielding, ponytailed asshole's door was the first one in the hallway. He hadn't seen the guy's tail end on the way here, so a few more steps was all it would take.
Siegfried stepped out of his room into the hallway, but not before taking the torch and the pipe. He might have been lucky last night and had avoided any attack, but this wouldn’t always be the case. Eventually something would catch him.
The man on the intercom had mentioned a door in the kitchen, presumably leading to the basement from the way he spoke of it. It would be stupid of Siegfried to actually listen to the man - the basement was most likely a trap. There was no need to venture there yet, there were still plenty of other places yet to explore.
Sanji might have invited Light to join him at that point, or to contact some of his crew if he needed help, but the comment about Nami nearly drove all those thoughts from his mind in an instant. He stood, giving his roommate a serious look.
"You're right. I have things to do. People to find." He wondered if Nami had managed to find any more of the crew. Hopefully getting back together wouldn't be too difficult. It wouldn't be the first time the group had been separated. "I'll see you again," he added with a brief nod before making his way to the door and striding out into the hall.
Or hopefully not. Seeing Light again would mean a failed attempt at escape that night. Though he wished him the best, he'd rather his crew get out as soon as possible.
The encounter at the end of the hallway made Naoto pause for just a second--debating between jumping in and just minding his own business.
In the end, 'minding his own business' won. If he couldn't use telepathy here, would his telekinesis even work either? That was the only way he could have intervened.
He hurried to Naoya's room and knocked on the door before swinging it open.
When the intercom rang out the switch between day and night, Duo was lazily reclined on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. There wasn't much else to do in the process of waiting for the doors to open again. Luckily, he didn't have to wait much longer after that...
When the doors opened, Duo quickly gathered up his flashlight, his radio, and a few pens, calling out a quiet "Good luck" as he exited the room. The halls proved to be a little more crowded tonight as Duo moved along the entire length of the passageway, slipping past a rather odd group clustered around his neighbor's doorway. He caught a glance of some weird outfit through the door and decided not to stop and stare.
The next couple he passed nearly made Duo stop and stare. Just what kind of building was this?! Granted, it was dark so he couldn't see the faces of the two men, but he could hear their voices and catch faint caresses of silhouettes from the scattered flashlight beams. Whatever was going down between these two, the gundam pilot so didn't want to know
( ... )
The chef glanced around the hall and saw no one he recognized. He shouted out the names of his crew members just a couple times before deciding they weren't there and moving on.
