Hokuto jogged down two doors and saw Momo already waiting--well, this was convenient. She stopped and bowed, saying as respectfully as she could, "Good evening, Hinamori-fukutaichou." This still felt almost like she was playing pretend (her outfit and makeshift weapon did not help); who was she kidding when she tried to be a soldier? She didn't even know if she was greeting her Vice-Captain properly.
All I can do is try.
She'd wait and see what Momo said in return, then ask about last night. She didn't want to pry, there was no way Momo would want to talk about it, but she needed to know what not to do from now on. Was it being restrained that had set her off, or the fact that she couldn't see who it was, or something else entirely?

She stood aside. "I have the implements we found last night ready." Which was to say, she'd stood the two shovels against the wall and had the spades in her coat pockets. "I can make a pair of knives out of the blade but they'll need sharpening."
She had, in fact, read the Arts & Crafts bulletin post, even if she hadn't responded.

Her attention moved to Signum as the knight opened the door. She smiled warmly in greeting and stepped inside once allowed. Her eyes traveled over the shovels and she couldn't help but picture how ridiculous Byakuya would look wielding one. If only she had a way to take a picture to show Kira once she got back to Soul Society.
This did te4ll her, though, that Signum had been paying attention to the various shinigami bulletin posts. Which meant the knight probably knew about her argument with Renji about the knight's place on the rescue team as well as Gin being in Arts & Crafts now.
And Byakuya.
"We'll see if we can find something that'll act as a whetstone while exploring," she said in response. She looked up at Signum, wanting to say something about what happened with Renji and the rescue team, but she couldn't even come up with any way to phrase what she was feeling without letting the anger she still held for that and Gin's joining in check ( ... )

Great timing--Momo was already not in the best of moods, and now Hokuto was asking her to explain about a past trauma. She didn't have to go into detail if she didn't want to, but Hokuto really did need to know what not to do from now on.
One hand drifted up, almost unconsciously, to clench into a fist over her heart. If nothing else, she probably had a good idea of how Momo felt, at least on some level.
