However, curiosity got the better of him, and Axel soon stumbled inside to get a closer look at what the blond was gaping at in the corner.

Moving towards whatever it was that Ed and Axel seemed to have an interest in, Kairi peeked over Ed’s other shoulder with curious eyes, and soon let out a slight gasp at what she saw. “Oh!” Bullets would be useless without an actual gun, though. Its body was devoid of hair, it had no suggestion of gender, and its legs ended in strange, single-toed feet tipped with a single, scythe-like claw.

The fact that he was moving when the great roar came gave him a few crucial seconds to move. As soon as the sound came he lunged towards the door, grabbing the frying pan handle and turning to face the creature. His eyes widened at the sight of it, it wasn't something he'd ever seen before, but there was no time to talk as it moved quickly towards them.
He jumped towards it, bringing the frying pan down as heavily as he could against one of the arms, trying for the thinnest points. He wasn't expecting much of the blow, but if he could distract it, then Kairi and Axel could out.
