[from here]It was somehow strange to have an unlocked door this far in the building, but Peony guessed that if there had to be a key to get in as far as they did, there was going to be comparatively little security past that point

With the amount of enthusiasm Anise showed for more room raiding, one would never think she was in a horrific monster-infested institution. Anise tried not to remind herself about those details too much. This place sure was creepy, and trying to imagine exactly what the room could be used for sent chills down her spine.
But she didn't allow any of that uneasiness to show on her face. How could she possibly frown at talk of treasure? "Treasure, huh? Let's see!" Following the emperor's light, she bounded over to the cabinet. Tucking her flashlight under her arm to free one hand, she opened the cabinet wide, taking a step back so that everyone could see what was inside.
Syringes, needles, stethoscopes... something told Anise that the colonel would be right at home here. She couldn't see any of the tools being especially useful to her, but she kind of wanted to take something anyway. After all, it would be much better for any of those things to be with her than in the hands of the bad guys! Right?
Treasure. How enthusiastic. If Anise eyes shone because of the idea of treasure hunting, Cyrille's were cold and darkened by the thought. Joy. She was bad at finding things, her clumsiness could be seen when she tried to identify objects as useful or not. Cyrille was good with certain things, this was not one of them though. She folded her arms as a sign she was cold... and slightly out of place

"I guess so!" Peony's mind was mildly amused by the thought of cute, mild Cyrille with an attack syringe. "You know, I like the thought of swords better. But like heck that's going to happen. So you should keep some of those as weapons." Peony was actually a pretty avid sword collector, and knew a pretty decent amount about weapons - rather unapparent, though, considering how most of his weapon collection lay in a heap in his room. Syringes, though, were totally not his style. Bludgeon things over the head, that was more like it! Or jab them where it hurts with a spear. Oh yeah.
He picked up a stethoscope with his mop-hand (he'd tucked that particular object under his arm) and put it around his neck - it wasn't a very hip or happening accessory, but this trip would be a failure if he didn't bring at least something back for his Jade. "I'll take this~ Just let me know if either of you guys want a check-up. I'll be Thorough Dr. Peony

"My, it looks good on you, Dr. Peony!" Anise laughed. At this point, the emperor looked absolutely ridiculous with all of his unusual accessories. But his attitude was encouraging, and helped to keep the fear and anxiety away. And that was important! No way were they going to give in to the grim mood of the night. Anise had to do her part to keep everyone in high spirits, too.
The talk of weapons got her thinking a little. Anise wasn't really into swords or syringes, or anything like that. She wanted Tokunaga, but unfortunately for her, there wasn't anything quite like Tokunaga anywhere in the world. She couldn't even hope for a substitute! It looked like she would be using the pipe for a while.
Cyrille was right--while a needle wasn't exactly big or durable, it was sharp enough to do some serious damage if it hit a vital spot. It was too bad Anise was a little too small to reach most vital spots on a larger opponent
