Maybe lingering near the railing wasn't such a good idea after all.
It had taken a little while, but by the time he was ready to leave there he could feel something heavy dropping onto his chest without warning. His mind wandered then, trying to come up with a logical explanation for this.
"Is it-" No, it was different from a fon slot seal, yet it stubbornly clung to him anyway. Jade's eyes narrowed as he attempted to disperse it, but it came to no avail. In the end, he found himself shaking his head, feeling it was best not to dwell any longer than he needed to. The Colonel went back to his search, finding the Janitor's Closet without much difficulty. It was to be expected that said room would be locked, though the lock itself appeared to be relatively old. Maybe it was a good time as any to see the extent of his fonic arte abilities, if he had any remaining anyway.
Jade made sure he had enough space, raising his arm to his chest like he always did when he opened his fon slots to cast his artes. Except the differences were more than obvious; gathering enough fonons took much longer than it usually did, and Jade found himself forcing all his concentration to continue forth the simple task bundle them together into something sufficient.
After a minute the lock finally began to glow, and with a bright flash it was blown right off.
