Nightshift 19: M51-M60 Hallway

Nov 07, 2006 22:01

[From here]"Finally..." Kurama whispered to himself as his flashlight beam landed on word 'M60'. There were so many rooms, it was a wonder he'd find Ginji's at all. Still, if the rooms were set up as he thought they were, M51 should be at the end of this hallway ( Read more... )

It had been an interesting evening, and Karasu felt somewhat more informed thanks to his time spent in the game room with the ‘Scarecrow’ and Eric. As much as he had actually enjoyed talking to the two, it had been rather pleasant with his given quiet time to think. Pleasant until the rather unnerving sound of the doctor’s voice rang from the intercom to fill the entire building with his less-than-sane monologue ( ... )

Kurama continued to pour over the map he'd sketched so far, a frown slipping across his face. There were too many places for Ginji to have gone... Like the second floor solitary confinement cells? He shook his head, dispelling the thought. He didn't know Ginji was there... He was only being paranoid.

Suddenly, Kurama lifted his head, noticing a flash of light in the hallway in front of him. Someone with a flashlight. Whether it was a nurse or a patient, it was too late to douse his own light for favor of hiding in the darkness, and he had no where to go save into Ginji's empty room.

At this, all of Karasu’s doubts had completely vanished-not that he had had many to begin with, but this certainly summed them all up. The only question was why?

Setting that aside, the crow demon couldn’t help but smirk under his mask. It was just too convenient and just too perfect. What a way to meet up with the very one that he had admired so sadistically; and watched closely like some deranged stalker from the shadows-it was what he was, was it not?

He released a hollow chuckle, though hardly loud enough for the other to hear, “Perhaps I could as the same of you, though more along the lines of the latter,” he paused, observing the other with an air of interest. He seemed older somehow; more mature in his features though he still withheld the same beauty. How amusing…

“For the former, it would be rather hard to place you as a terror; but perhaps…” he paused once more, taking a few steps toward him, rather infatuated with the very idea that Kurama was already right where he wanted him. He hadn’t even done anything save for ( ... )

Kurama fought back the urge to cringe as Karasu chuckled, the sound just barely reaching his ears, but causing him to tense nevertheless. Everything about the other demon made him uneasy; the way he walked, the way he spoke, the way his cold gaze seemed to follow the redhead everywhere ( ... )
