Nightshift 25: M11-M20 Hallway

Jul 15, 2007 14:17

Homura was as eager as his roommate to get things started, knowing that there was much to do, and so little time. The frying pan that had been his makeshift weapon before still in Kenshin's possession, Homura got his flashlight once again, hopefully for the last time as a fighting tool ( Read more... )

Why the daytime had opened up new possibilities to who had summoned him, Yuber found his attentions drifting more towards the battle at hand instead. It had felt like far too long since he felt the rush of battle running through his body, and though the connection to his True Rune was weakened considerably, the black knight could still tell the anticipation it felt for the Chaos close at hand.

He had slipped out of his room without so much of a sound after gathering his belongings, and as he made his way through the darkened hallways.

Gin was ready long before the doctor gave his nightly announcement. Night was the only time they could actually move about freely. They had to get as much accomplished as possible or they would never be rid of this place. It was trying, certainly. He knew if he had the proper connections, the proper information, he could easily put together the proper retaliations and start making decent progress. But he'd burned all those bridges when he'd left Soul Society. If he was careful, he might catch bits and pieces, but how could any of them hope to fight back when their army was so scattered ( ... )

Small-talk was something best left for the daytime hours. Though he hadn't even started more than a few feet when the first interruption came. It was a fairly young boy, friendly, no doubt. But most interesting of all was the sword the boy was carrying. It would save him a trip if he knew where to get a nice blade like that. It might be worth delaying a few minutes. Besides, Jack was sturdy. He wasn't going to die in the next five minutes unless he did something utterly foolish.

"Evenin'," Gin returned, an easy smile on his lips. "Don't b'lieve we've met. Ichimaru Gin."

[is ok! ♥]

Ashton's eyes were finally accustoming themselves to the stark contrast the nightshift provided to the dayshift's blinding halogen bulbs. Seeing in the dark was something he'd had to learn to do while starting off as a bounty hunter. Dark mine shafts weren't very fun when one couldn't see at all! It had been easier after the possession - he'd had a light and a torch whenever he wanted one, and it'd made him a little lazy. Now he didn't even have a flashlight.

Regardless of the poor lighting situation, he could nevertheless make out the smile on Ichimaru's face. "Ashton! Ashton Anchors, from M12." he said happily. "Ah.. nice to meet you, Ichimaru!"

He was a little awkward, and it showed - he was fidgeting with the hilts of both swords, turning them around in his hands. "It's best to at least know the names of your neighbors. Got any plans tonight?"

Javert set aside the thick volume as the door unlocked behind him. He glanced one more time at Reynolds's side of the room. Once more the thought of creatures at night niggled at his brain, and close on its heels came Luffy's words. He'd been forced to fight other patients against his will, hadn't he? What if they took those patients away beforehand ( ... )

[Sorry for whoever's inbox I'm raping, but I just can't figure out why the links aren't working with me. DX]

Well, that was that. The two blonds went there separate ways for the night, Noah obviously going to tend to his charge. Luxord didn't care, really. So long as the Nobody stayed as close to the shadows as he could in his little 'journey,' nothing would notice him.

As much as Axel would rather do without them, he knew he wasn't strong enough to be running around the Institute without any means of support. So after he bid Ashton farewell, the redhead set out with tearing up one of his shirts and tying both of his flashlights to each handle of his crutch. It put a little more weight on the instruments, but he needed some exercise anyway if he was ever expecting to fully recover.

The mechanical beating in his chest was still foreign, but it didn't quite drive him up the wall as it once did. But that didn't mean he was looking forward to explaining the whole procedure to Demyx.

Ah, well. After taking the time to make sure he had everything, he finally set off down the hallway.
