As soon as the doors had unlocked, Xemnas already headed outside. His amber eyes scanned the dark hallway, but there were patients nor monsters lurking within the darkness. Keeping his flashlight off as to avoid any unwanted attention, the Superior quickly proceeded

So when the locks undid themselves with that familiar clickign sound, he left the room to head towards the door leading out.
((Went: here.))

Hitsugaya walked a little bit further into the darkness, knowing Hinamori would be behind him. "We don't have long," he said when they were far enough away. "So I'll make this as brief as I can."
He quickly briefed Hinamori on the situation. Some things didn't need to be said. She already knew what nightshift was like, but she didn't know how everything worked. She didn't know about their plans to take out the doctor, and she didn't know about special counseling. Everything Renji had told him, he relayed to her in as quickly and efficient a manner as he could muster.
When he was done, he glanced away. Now came the hard part. "I..."
Meh.
"You're a good vice captain, Momo."

"You're a good vice captain, Momo."
Momo blinked. She wasn't expecting that.
"Umm... Thank you?" She paused a little confused, then added on, "Sir."

"Sure," he said, turning his back on her entirely. "I know you can handle yourself. You wouldn't be where you are if that weren't the case. But if anyone hurts you...I'm not going to stand for that. When...after..." He shook his head and looked up at the ceiling. Did they really have time for explanations? No. Maybe tomorrow.
"Anyways, before you go, for this mission we're on, we need a better chain of command. Normally it's not as big of an issue, but since we may be here a while, it needs some stability. I'm ranking all of the vice captains by how long they've been here. So it'll be me, then Abarai, then Matsumoto, then you. It's just while we're stuck here, to keep everything running smoothly."

Renji got a few doors away from Ed's room as quickly as he could. As soon as he was out of earshot, and presumably sight, his hands started shaking.
"I don't have time for this," he said, to himself. "And it doesn't matter, anyway. Way to get upset over nothing."
He needed to find Suou, get the night moving. He needed something to do, or he'd... He just needed something to do.

Patients were meant to be prey, not predators.

...Well, it looked like the right hallway. In retrospect he realized he should have brought the flashlight along. It would have made easier work of reading numbers and finding the right face amongst the crowd. He could extend his senses little more than an arms length, but doing that made him feel once again nauseous and strained.
It was a pitiful state, but he didn't dwell on it.
He did (finally) reach the right shinigami. Short, white hair, deceptively young features and, from the way the others focused on him, he must be a leader as well.
Kurikara stood near the outskirts of their group and waited for the discussion to finish.

Hitsugaya approached the man waiting on the outskirts. He knew Homura's face now, as well as Fox's. It meant he was one of a few possibilities...Kurikara, or a member of the other shinigami's group. Considering he was traveling alone, he made a guess that it was Kurikara...the dragon.
Outside of Hyorinmaru, he had never seen a dragon before, and while this man looked like nothing more than a human, looks could often be deceiving. Considering he himself looked to be 13, he knew this firsthand. Sadly, there wasn't time to talk. They agreed to talk during the day sometime, and hopefully he would have the time. He wasn't interested in modern toys like some of the others had been, but he certainly was interested in talk of dragons.
"Kurikara?" Hitsugaya asked, hoping he was right.

Though his tone was teasing and no less rude than usual, but he still had no idea what sumi-e was supposed to be code for. Sohryuu had always been better at this sort of thing.
He regarded Hitsugaya with his one unscarred eye. He wondered how old this boy really was, and how strong. But he looked like he had other business to attend to, and they would have time for idle chatter during the day.

He rolled his eyes at the mention of 'brushwork," and held out one of the remaining maps. "You can start by practicing on the parts of the map that haven't been filled in. The more we know about this place, the better. Label all of the rooms and anything else worth noting. If you find something you think we could use, take it. Weapons are preferred. I have a team taking the west stairs, so if you take the stairs by the western waiting room, you shouldn't bump into each other."

Oh no, not when there was revenge to be had, and an escape to be made.
"I'm going to find the bastard, and rip out his throat." Hiei growled the words under his breath as he headed to the door, throwing it open with the full force of his rage and his strength, the former of which made up in many ways for the weakening of the latter.

Maybe he could -- SLAM.
Kurikara cursed and stumbled back in sheer surprise, a hand coming up to cover his now bloody nose. He would be extremely lucky if it wasn't broken.
He didn't even hesitate. He spun and launched a savage kick right back at the door.

What he wasn't expecting was the door to seek it's own revenge, coming back to hit Hiei with a sharp smack to the face.
"Fuck!" Hiei's curse was as sharp as the one that came before it, and now he had his own bloody nose to deal with. He took a step back, just enough to regain his balance, before storming out into the hall again.
Someone was going to pay for that. It was the perfect way to vent the rage that had been quickly building since he woke up.
"Show yourself!" The words sounded strange with Hiei's pinched nose, but the demon hardly cared. All that mattered was finding the moron responsible, and leaving his bloodied corpse as the first victim of his quest for vengeance.

"I'm not hiding." It came out as a growl, low and challenging. "Move aside before I turn you into a doorstop."
...It would be so much more impressive if he didn't sound like a duck with a cold.
