here.]Being at the head of a group of six was definitely a good feeling, even if it also meant that Harvey would be the first one to get attacked if something found them. His need to be in charge often battled with his own logical sense of self-preservation. Before the accident, the former had almost always won out, coupled with some urge to

The kitchen was empty; were they the first ones to come through? Niikura crept through the room, glancing back now and then to check and make sure that Shiina and Mike were right behind him. It really wasn't a competition to see who got there first, but it did kind of ruin the mystique of the moment when there were other people there. Kind of like accidentally stumbling upon another tour group. That just killed the buzz.
He aimed his flashlight at the door and frowned as he took in the busted knob. So they weren't the first ones to make it into the basement. But...how had these mystery others gotten in here in the first place? The cafeteria...was there another entrance? Ah, stupid question since they were all in the same boat anyway. "I think I'm good," Niikura said, holding up his sword. "Don't wanna overload myself or anything." Because honestly, where on his person could he afford to put another blade? He shrugged. "But if ya wanna pick somethin' out, Mike-san, I won't stop ya."
He paused as another group went by. The basement sure was popular with people tonight, despite all those doom-and-gloom warnings he'd gotten from people.

Mike began riffling through the kitchen, quickly searching through it. As he went, he started to get more annoyed. Finally, when he searched through the last drawer, he held up a butter knife, frowning at it.
"... Or I suppose we can go as we are. I'll grab a few knives to make sharper later, but there's nothin' we can use tonight."
They were at least metal. It was a start. He wondered if he could make any decent weapons out of them.
