[From here]Looked like she was the first one out this way. Utena stopped just short of the Sun Room, turning her light back to see if anyone she knew was coming up the hall behind her. No one so far

"I don't know if Gamzee has explained to you what's up yet..." Ilia started, hoping to catch Seishin up with their plans as they moved, "... but we're exploring the basement. It's supposedly very dangerous, but so far we've done well in tackling all the obstacles thrown our way."
She smiled in false amusement. "Honestly, I'm not ever sure if it's nearly as dangerous as people have claimed, but I wouldn't know. Most people won't talk about what they've done down there." Really, they just couldn't talk, but that excuse sounded like a cop-out. Landel really was a sick bastard.
While those who'd been through all of the rigors of the basement couldn't talk about their exploits, Rose had no such limitations. Yet.
"There have been two challenges so far. There were two identical doors, each leading to one challenge, which we surmounted through the virtues of camaraderie and hard work."
The sword and shield were hanging off one edge of her sylladex, and she plucked them both out. "The shield was less about defense than about intellectual prowess. We solved a riddle." It disappeared back into the ether as she flipped the sword up in the air and then caught it again by the tiny hilt. "The sword, however, lived up to its shape." It flashed again as she slid it away.
"There were two more doors, which didn't match. What's behind those is anyone's guess. But that's what we're trying to find out." Rose wasn't sure she shared Ilia's confidence in its non-lethality, but that didn't diminish her eagerness to open the next door.
Damn, look at that shiny bling. Gamzee stared at the items they'd won, pleased with their exploits so far even if the sword and shield weren't strong enough to fight with. They were nice looking, and sometimes that was good too, wasn't it? They'd done such a good job. It all sounded even better the way Rose explained it.
"I've got my belief on that the way will be makin' itself all apparent when it comes to be the time, you know?" That had seemed to work for them so far, from his perspective. "We've got enough of the motherfuckin' miracle works between us to make this shit happen. I've got nothin' but faith in that."
And he reached over to give Seishin a pat on the back at this. They'd take care of each other. No need to worry.
The slight reluctance on Sivestri-san didn't go unnoticed by the former priest, but he couldn't blame her for it. After all, there wasn't much use for someone who would only drag them down. Nonetheless, it seemed to be settled that Seishin would come along. Not wishing to delay them any further, he passively followed the group into the center area of the hallway

Rose handled the details rather nicely. Her flair for the dramatic amused Ilia as always. Gamzee was almost as inscrutable as ever, though his speech patterns were starting to make a bit more sense. His almost innocent show of faith in them was also quite endearing. Ilia wasn't going to disagree with that kind of confidence. In fact, it was her younger teammates' continued determination that fueled her own confidence in the night. She began to relax as they moved along, almost willing to smile even as they made their way further along the dark corridor and through the doors to the Sun Room.
