Nightshift 24: M51-60 Hall

Jun 02, 2007 11:58

Captain Jack was in a good mood; he figured that a lot would get done tonight, since he was just meeting up with Gin - or Captain Gin, as he tended to think of him. It was enough to make his normally cheerful outlook even better. Something about not getting stuck with kids just charmed him down to his toes ( Read more... )

((OOC: Sorry to follow up one Jack with another! I didn't realize we were hall mates. :P))

Jack Horner, though in no rush to engage in a battle he was sure to lose, was in slightly better spirits when he finally finished all his preparations. Breaking the furniture had proved more difficult and time consuming than he had originally surmised, but the tenacity paid off in the end. And tenacious he was, because the last thing the Fable needed was to have his long life ended in a mental institution.

Before he left his room and slid into the hallway, Jack uncapped one of the many pens he had been given to make an alteration on one of shirts he had discovered in the closet. The smilie faces didn't suit him. With a quick scribble, the smiling face gained arched eyebrows. It was still a smilie, granted, but now it was devilishly amused. At least, to Jack. He slipped the shirt over every other pair he had found, followed by the coat.

Well, he didn't exactly have ARMOR, did he ( ... )

Sai's gaze flew to the door as he heard it unlock with a loud click. His search through the drawers was brought to an abrupt halt. Looking to his roommate for his response, he slowly wrapped a hand around the handle of one of the flashlights. Was someone coming inside?

After a moment or two of waiting, he made his way to the door and pulled it open. There were no nurses or orderlies outside, but there were other patients already making their way out of their rooms. He stopped in the doorway and simply watched them, trying to formulate a plan of action.

What was it Naruto had said before he'd been dragged off earlier? To be careful at night?

"You," Sasuke said as he approached, expecting Allen to be behind him. He pitched his voice just loud enough to hear as he came within earshot. "You already know my name. Who are you?"

Gaara stretched, letting the muscles in his back work in tentative, creaking protest. The locks sounded after the less than inspiring words from the doctor, and Gaara took his bat from his closet, set his flashlight in his waistband along side pens, and did his very best (an impressive show) to ignore his roommate.

He opened the door. His eyes adjusted to the dark, and simultaneously, as they moved along its shadows, the form of Uchiha Sasuke moving down the hall. Gaara chose not to say anything, waiting instead to watch, exactly, what developed from the Uchiha's odd words.

Gaara edged into the hallway.

Allen shook his head and passed the kitchen utensils back to Sasuke. "Oh, I don't need it, I have a weapon already," he assured the boy. He would activate it and show him, but he was still hungry and it seemed a waste to do it just for show.

He tagged along behind Sasuke, looking warily around, but he didn't sense Akuma, so they were safe for now. He smiled at the boys they approached. Sasuke seemed to know them, but he wasn't sure if they were allies or not. "Hello," he said politely.

Ah... it was good to be gone from that bump on a log. If it was up to Xigbar, he'd just let Hakkai go fly a kite and forget all about having to be stuck with him. He just hoped he didn't get to see the man any time during the night; if he could handle those dogs with no powers, then a Hakkai with full powers? That'd be scary. Kind of scary. Well, it'd be unsettling at least.

Whatever. He had a frisky female Nobody to work with, and someone else to see, and after that? Heck, he'd just have to fly by the seat of his pants like he always did. It'd all come out all right in the end~!

((Waltzing off to here. ))

As lively as Masaru figured the conversation with his roommate was going to be, there was no way in hell he was going to pass up getting out that room in favor of some arguing. He had some promises to keep.

"Well, whatever. There's no time for this crap. I'll deal with you later."

That said, he scarfed down the rest of his food as fast as humanly possible and made sure he still had that map Larsa had given him. Time to get serious. He was out of there.
