It would have helped if Tifa had remembered which door it was, but Zack couldn't blame her for forgetting when this hallway had a line of them down either side. This was probably why people made a habit of carrying around maps, wasn't it? Well, they were just going to have to do this the hard way, which meant attempting to kick down each door until one opened for them ( ... )

"It is sad." Her agreement was distant from concentration that wrinkled her brow and left her scowling at her new target. They were 0 for 2 and Tifa couldn't allow them their last strike. Of course, the institute wasn't going to make her resolution easy. All of their banging had dislodged creatures from parts unknown. The door directly right of her first attempt was slowly being covered by those sentient sacks of blood. Thankfully, they didn't spew fire when they were squashed.

Her good hand batted two off and away from the handle and dutifully squashed them under her sneaker. They made a soft splurting sound that soured her stomach. For as much blood-letting as she had conspired in, the sounds it made were still horrible.

"Third time's the charm, Zack!" With that optimistic cry, Tifa slammed her foot against the door and, miraculously, it opened like a door was supposed to when she hit it. The illumination from the force field made her job easy; it looked just like a janitor's closet to her.
