No one had made it up yet. The door was still tightly locked, though one at the end of the hall was hanging ten off a quarter inch of hinge.
"Do something useful with all that energy, man. Kick this thing loose. It'll move, if you hit it hard enough. I promise." The fact that the doors and walls were the instant coffee edition -- fresh every morning, still shitty as ever -- could wait too. There'd be plenty of time to pace the hall once they got down it.

"Hee! Hee! Hee! No, no, I'm not human." Even after all this time, it felt strange to him to think that wasn't obvious. He was so used to humans being horrified by his appearance, and he still mentally pictured himself as a VUX. Being reminded that he wasn't every now and then hadn't done much to stop that. "I'm a VUX, actually. Native to Beta Luyten... although I'm not sure how much that might mean to you." Most of the humans here hadn't achieved space travel after all. "I assume by your comment that you aren't human either?" ZEX tried to smile at him again. "It looks like we have something in common then."
But ZEX was more than happy to stand back at Taylor's directive. Better for the other human to exert himself, if he so chose... ZEX was going to reserve his energy.

All that meant was his brothers were definitely human right now. There was no way in hell he'd be able to pick them out of a crowd, especially if they were trying to blend in. His best bet was to find them in the torture chambers, bad as that sounded. But at least it's nothing they haven't dealt with before. If he didn't find them, he'd tear this place apart if he had to. He wasn't gonna give up.
Consciously having to find his center of balance was annoying, but it worked. One powerful kick later, the door splintered off the latch without a hitch. Raph smirked to himself as he reached for what was left of the doorknob, almost hoping a fight was waiting in the wings on the other side of the door.
