Dammit Jim. Dammit, dammit, dammit stampeded at the front of his thoughts. Damn the man. And damn Spock for going from backing him up to backing the Captain up. Logic was sound, his ass. Maybe Spock had the target painted on his back, but it didn't answer if the institute succeeded in actually rounding all the priority patients up. Jim was next on the menu if that happened.
McCoy managed not to stomp down the hall. He instead restrained and focused the frustration somewhere more dignified, like wrapping his fingers, knuckle white grip and all, around the handle of the first aid kit. You cave every time the Captain bats his baby blues at you on a daily basis, Spock? It might explain why he let the captain go on shore leaves rather than remain on the ship like most captains.
Rather than let his annoyance make him say something he'd regret, McCoy decided to focus on the matter at hand. "So you're back to your peak again. Must feel nice."
