Renji walked with purpose down the hall, though he wasn't in enough of a hurry to flashstep yet. He had to have somewhere he wanted to go first. Of course the idea that sprang instantly to mind was easily summed up as an equation: INSTITUTE + HIHIOU ZABIMARU = BOOM = :-DHowever, that would need to wait until, for example, there weren't people he

Still no sign of Sam, which meant the kid hadn't decided to try dropping by his room - as good as Sam was, it wasn't like the hall was that wide or crowded and he figured a big Yeti with dorky hair would stand out despite the Code Red. Dean just hoped he was still getting his butt into gear and that was it. He made it a point not to run over all the nasty alternatives.
Five minutes. He'd give Sam give minutes before he went right up to his room and checked.

One final left and she was practically there -- only to find herself with something of a roadblock. She stopped short, brisk walk halting mid-stride as she saw the stocky figure of Dean Winchester standing between her and the hallway that led down to Sam's room. Her hands balled into fists.
"Boy, looks Sam's just winnin' all the popularity contests today, isn't he?" There was a tightness in her voice as she addressed him, unease at his presence there evident in everything about her body language. "Hello, Dean." She slowly crossed her arms over her chest, hip popping as she leaned her weight to one side. This couldn't end well. Really couldn't end well. Her being here was incriminating enough, Dean didn't need much more reason than that to go off the handle.

He still couldn’t figure out the angle Ruby had on Sam. Sure, he thought she was there for insurance on the deal, maybe figuring out how to keep Sam safe, but other than that, Dean couldn’t for the life of him get why she was hovering close to the kid as if she actually cared what happened to a red-blooded human. There was chaperone duty and then there was going above and beyond and hanging out so much with Sam that if you didn’t know better, you’d think something else was up. Dean found his hand resting on the hilt of his bowie knife without even remembering putting it there. He slowly pulled his hand away. No stabbing the chaperones. It was harder than he thought it’d be ( ... )

"I'm fresh out of violins," Dean snorted, refusing to admit that Ruby maybe a tiny point -- it wasn't like he'd been much good busting Sam out of here, for example, and it wasn't helping things that he was pretty sure Sam hadn't really adjusted to the fact the deal was over and done with.
Glancing at Ruby, Dean couldn't shake that urge to recoil from a demon. "Well, if that's the case and we're looking at that kind of shakedown, then I'm all for finding out if there's a way out of here." Couldn't believe he was going to say what he said next, "I'm checking on Sam. You coming?"
As much as he hated to admit it, a demon who wasn't gunning for their blood might be useful right about now and while he told himself it was ( ... )

Honestly, she rarely needed them in the first place when she was around Sam. The witchcraft was handier, and that was something she was never gonna be able to pull off if she couldn't get the freaking supplies. She rolled her eyes at Dean's appearance of chivalry, knowing damn well what he was actually doing, and moved to walk past him, heading down the hallway where Sam's room lie.
"With or without your permission," she informed off-handedly as to her intentions on coming along.
