Hakkai heard the soft click of a lock bolt turning. Free for the night, it seemed, though to do what, he wasn't quite certain - in the big-picture sense, anyway. He had someone to meet tonight, though, someone he'd offered to help. He didn't mind doing it of his own initiative, but if it helped them get out of this strange place, so much the better.

He'd barely finished gathering things - flashlight, some paper ripped out of the journal in the desk, two pens - when the alarm went off, causing him to tense. Code Red - he didn't know what it meant, but it sounded like trouble. Which meant his skills would be even more needed.

He closed the door behind him quietly, when the hallway was suddenly awash in a soft, strange pink light. A hand came up, defensively - but whatever it was, it wasn't an attack. Once he recovered from the surprise, he started down the hall, walking quickly. He remembered the way he'd come, being led back to his room, and he could find his way back easily enough.
