Sure enough, as soon as they reached the balcony area of the second floor, Facilier's flashlight beam crossed an open doorway on the north side that seemed to look in on a church-like room. Rapunzel had never seen a real church before, but knew vaguely what they were supposed to look like from her books. That was where Harrington would be waiting.
She slowed slightly as they approached, nervousness rising in her chest. Was she ready to talk to someone like this? To lie to a man's face for the sake of another man's life? And not give even the slightest hint that she wasn't being truthful?
Rapunzel forced herself to breathe. She wasn't going to be able to do it if she didn't calm down. Thankfully, Facilier seemed to be calmer at this point as well, which helped. "Okay. I can do this," she told herself, finally letting her hair's grip on Facilier go as she forced herself to walk through the door.
