The usual walls of the Sun Room were absent, replaced with new hallways bordering a railing that overlooked the Sun Room - another area that he had made a point of avoiding after one too many incidents. Above that opening

Coming into the wide open area above the Sun Room, Stefan took another moment to re-orient himself. He saw doors along the walls, and a scurry of movement ahead from something that blended into the shadows. Stefan slid over to the wall, and peered around the corner just in time to make out the figure out of a man walking alone towards the doors at the back. No one else. Good. He was finally alone, then.
Stefan closed his eyes, breathing in deep the stale air of the hospital, searching for... what? He hadn't been able to smell that massive squirrel just two seconds before it had lunged at them; should he really expect to be able to pick up the scent of any creatures wandering the halls here?
Maybe he'd just been... distracted that time. An animal without a scent? Impossible. It wasn't Landel's animals, it was him - he'd been able to smell the blood on Alaric last night, which meant some of those preternatural senses remained to him. So he breathed in, trying again ( ... )

Next hall was reasonably empty. Fantastic. Except he still didn't really have a clue where he was going, he just knew he wanted to get somewhere. And maybe seem like he had a destination in mind. It wasn't his fault, all right? He'd never come up here during the day, either.
Gabriel's hand snaked under his jacket when the whine of the intercom hit the air, fingering the point as Aguilar - a voice he was now intimately acquainted with - spilled over him. A traitor, huh? Good. Screw him, six ways from Tuesday if someone could manage it. Now if only Gabriel knew what the hell was going on, he'd be doing his best to mess up any damn plan he could.
"Chapel, chapel..." He dropped his hand, looking down the pair of hallways they eased in between, the sun room below. Well, it was on the second floor. Woohoo. He just wanted to peek his head in. Sure, he'd been given the chance to hit the place, but he'd refused it vehemently every time.
Three guesses why, first two don't count.

The sound of the intercom turning on almost caused him to jump out of his skin. Instead, Michael subtly reached out for the railing and gripped it to keep himself steady as he listened.
It was Aguilar's voice. That much he knew. Not because he'd seen the man the night before (that hadn't happened; he would keep telling himself that until it felt true), but because he'd heard his daytime announcements. It was bizarre that he was addressing them now, but it seemed to be for good reason. If there was a rogue soldier out and about, then it only made sense that he would want to know something ( ... )

And if he had to wear that freaking hat again, he was going to blow a gasket. A second gasket. He was pretty well on his way to blowing the first.
He turned back to Michael with a sneer as he reached the already open doors. "It's a clue. We're the Scooby gang, bro. When there's clues, we follow them."
There wasn't room for argument. Gabriel grabbed a considerable amount of his brother's sleeve, tugging him in the door after him.

Daemon kept moving, his flashlight sweeping the darkness. This next corridor wasn't much of a hallway at all, but more of a balcony that overlooked the Sunroom down below.
"Be careful of that," he murmured to Chipp, staying far back from the railing. "We don't want to draw the attention of anything that might be down there just yet. We've bigger fish to catch."
Sticking close to the wall, he moved through the upper hall until they came to the far side and there, finally, the light illuminated the double set of doors that led into the Chapel.
"There," Daemon motioned with his light. "We go through there." Just to be safe, however, he paused to search the area with his light, and then with his senses, probing the shadows. This was all very easy. Possibly too easy. The last thing they needed was to walk unknowingly into a trap.
They might still walk into it knowingly, but at least then he'd be prepared for it...

"OTAKU!!!"
With a cry, Chipp barreled his way through the doors...
