Farfarello staggered just a little as he made his way back to his room. The deliciously unfamiliar pain in his head was distracting, very distracting, and he kept having to remind himself to pay attention to things like walking, going in the right direction, and not bursting into hysterical laughter where the nurses could hear him ( ... )

Farfarello flexed his hand until the bite started bleeding sluggishly again, and licked the blood off. Still bleeding clean, good. Infection would be a bad thing, in this place. He'd need to wrap it tonight, to keep monster guts out of it.

"Oh, I'm insane. But not in that way. And there are people I know from more or less my time and my world, here. They're apparently a little bit ahead of me, months or a year, not too much."

"Hah... a good answer, I suppose. And I don't believe that I've noticed anyone from my world, otherwise I would have noticed them." Roland sucked in a breath as he leaned back on his bed, a frown creasing his face once more. "All of us coming from different times, that's not something I would have expected to hear. But I can't argue with the facts, not when I know what I do about what happens."

He idly tapped his finger on the bed now, then glanced over to Farfarello. Not even a flinch as the blood started flowing again? Obviously there was more to this man than met the eye; just like Sub Zero, there was something fundamentally off about the whole situation. "Be careful with those monsters, too; there might be more than you alone can handle."

Right as Roland finished his sentence was about the time the door was pushed open, revealing a Nurse followed by three Orderlies. She took the time to give her patients a smile before stepping further into the room.

"Good Evening you two," She started. "As much as I'd like you two to spend more time together, I'm afraid that I must pull Mr. Dupont away for a bit. It's only a simple nightly check-up, that's all."

Already two of the Orderlies had walked over to where Roland was, beckoning him to stand from his bed and follow them into the hallway. Meanwhile, the Nurse had caught Farfarello's wound, motioning the remaining Orderly to check and provide a temporary bandage if necessary.

Farfarello tensed up the insant the door began to open--from everything he'd heard, in this place an evening visit from the staff meant that one or both of them was about to be carted off for experiments, or to be brainwashed and set against the other patients.

When it turned out to be Roland who was the target and not Farfarello, he almost cursed aloud--he should have asked Roland what sorts of powers he had, obviously. Stupid mistake, now he wouldn't know what he was up against if he met a brainwashed Roland in the halls. Maybe it was for experimentation that he was being hauled off... that would be better.

Hissing only slightly in annoyance at the orderly approaching him, Farfarello grudgingly submitted to the uninvited touch, letting the Orderly examine his wound. He didn't want trouble over something so small, at this stage in the game, and a bandage or some antiseptic would be a good thing in any case.

"...a nightly check-up? I wonder what for." That made Roland raise his eyebrow questioningly, but it wasn't like he could do much about it. Those men looked quite large indeed, and if there was a need for using his power, it would be best to do it where no one else could see.

So the man stood up, putting his tray and journal aside before nodding to the two orderlies. No need to be handled by them, he hoped. He only said one more thing before he got to the door. "Good luck, Farfarello; I'll see you in the morning."

It was hardly a surprise to find patients injured in anyway, so the Staff usually carried small kits with them incase the wound could be treated at the scene. The Orderly that was checking on Farfarello's wound worked quickly and quietly with cleaning and bandaging it, straightening himself once the job was done.

"It'll be over in practically no time, Mr. Dupont." The Nurse smiled as Roland allowed himself to be taken out. Finally someone who actually listened without protesting, it was almost refreshing in a sense.

After the man was ushered out of the room, the door shut before a small ‘click’ was heard, indicating that the door had been locked once more.

When the orderlies, nurse and his room mate were gone and the door locked again behind them, Farfarello tried to decide what to do. He could explore the room a bit, find something useful maybe, start stretching and warming up for the violence to come. Or he could curl up in bed and exult in the pain before it faded away forever.

It wasn't exactly a difficult decision. Farfarello pulled the sheets over his head, closed his eye, and let himself fall into the depths of the pain.
