There still wasn't much activity as he stepped out into the larger hallway. Did it have anything to do with the announcement at dinner? Or had he simply beat everyone else out for the evening?
Either way, it was somewhat disquieting, and he couldn't help but feel the absence of Souji's usual chattering as he moved through the darkness. He tried to shove that hurt, and the guilt at having been unable to do anything to help the younger man, away as best he could. There wasn't time. He needed to find the place he'd been told about and get his friend back before anyone in this place could do any more damage than they'd already done.

His crew would be easy to track down, anyway. Spock would've taken charge in his absence, and Uhura and Bones could certainly handle themselves without him. Well, maybe not Bones right now, but...
Kirk stopped before the exit to the block, turning his flashlight down the hallway where McCoy's room lay. That would be the most obvious first stop if he was looking for crew, but the tension of their last few conversations made him hesitate. The ring he'd picked up from Bones yesterday was on his right hand, a reminder of his decision to head down to the obvious trap laid out by Landel. A decision he hadn't even had the chance to explore, which only made him wonder if there were reasons for Aguilar to prevent them from venturing into the basement.
As the old Earth saying went, a saying his mother was fond of: If at first you don't succeed...

As usual, Snow rushed down the near pitch black hallway without one of those lighting devices. He still had no idea where one got those, and at the moment, he couldn't say he cared. He could deal with darkness. But he couldn't deal with waiting any longer. He needed to find Serah.
But even as impatient as he was, something tugged mildly in the back of his mind. Lightning. He had left a note for her on the "Bulletin Board" so they could search together. But he hadn't seen an answer before he got yanked off to the rooms. Maybe she hadn't seen it? Snow always forgot to look at that thing, too, and usually had to be reminded it was even there. Or maybe she had seen it and hadn't answered on purpose. He didn't know why she'd do that, though. Maybe she was mad for some reason. Maybe she wanted to look for Serah herself. Snow would prefer if they looked together but ( ... )

It hadn't escaped Harvey's attention that there hadn't been any announcement with the start of the night. That was probably for the best in his case, seeing how just hearing Aguilar give out that order before dinner had been enough to put him on edge. Code 1-8 hadn't been explained, but that was no big surprise. How many things here were actually explained to them ( ... )

Strangely, all the smells amounted to no people in the hallway. The knowledge almost short-circuited the poor boy as he gaped and groped his way in the dark hallway without a flashlight. But, if nothing else, the scent of Kibitoshin was getting stronger the further he moved down.
The monkey boy continued to get closer, closer, cl--Wait! What... It was growing fainter, what was happening?! Flustered, Goku let out a squawk and jumped back a foot. There was a new hallway opened to his right.
