In his mind, Scott pulled the sounds of snow blowing outside the door to the Rec Field closer to his ears. There we go, he thought. He could picture it as it had been earlier: cold wind whizzing past his arms and legs, chilling the tips of his ears as his vision filled with white. If he looked down at the snow-covered road, he could barely even tell he was still in a town. It was just a blank, cold space where Scott could wander forever. Already, he was starting to forget the stings of pain. The cold soothed, even when only imagined.
The further he walked in physical space, however, the further that white space took him also. Scott wandered through the hall and through his own mind, following the open nothingness into another time and place, another town filled with white. The snow fell in buckets there, far more than it had in Doyleton, but somehow, it felt softer. He couldn't see where he was going in it, but that didn't matter either; there was something there to help him find his way - someone, rather.
