He started to answer just as they entered the hardware store, "No, I'm not from around here; I'm not even from this country... And like you, I'm used to a larger city." Much larger; small places like this were quaint enough to visit, but he much preferred the life of the city where so many humans gathered.
Now that they'd arrived at the hardware store, Izaya headed for the first aisle. He wasn't entirely sure what he was looking for; it had to be cheap, obviously, but other than that... He supposed he'd just browse until he saw something that caught his fancy. And even if he didn't find something in the end, it wouldn't be a wasted effort in the least as long as their conversation continued.
