Aidou Hanabusa, a vampire, was one of the first into the cafeteria, which was swimming in dim sunlight. A grey morning suited his mood.
The fact that his biological clock was pitching fits was only the cherry on top of the cake; the last thing he wanted to do was sleep. "Waking up", once again, with no memory of how or why he'd been brought back

Swallowing the bite of bagel and cream cheese, Brock eyed the other Host. It bothered him a bit to know that Kasady was so able to read their mind, to read what he'd thought private and more than a little bit weird. It was rather like a stranger you'd never seen before walking into your house, laying up shop, sitting in your favorite chair and somehow knowing how to work your cable.
"I just had a productive night," Brock said, and washed down the bagel with milk. "A very productive night ( ... )

The sheer idiocy of it all - the irritation at being held here against his will - the loss of his eye - the throbbing pain where it used to be - the fact that he still hadn't gotten revenge for everything that had ever happened to him (the black dragons and Inuart and that bitch and his sister) --
Caim pulled back and turned around. For one brief instant, he turned his look of utter hatred on the nurse.
Then he brought his fist down on her, aiming to first hurt, and then to kill.

While they had decidedly shaky morals, by human standards, Eddie Brock still didn't think it was very cool to go around hitting innocent bystanders, much less a woman (even if she was staff). He didn't care if Kasady took a punch or too; he'd be fine, but there was just a line you didn't toe and going around slugging a woman who didn't technically do anything was going across said line.
"Cut it out!" Brock tried to reach out and intercept the punch. He'd been able to hold Kasady back - although it'd been like trying to hold back a train - but he wasn't sure if he'd be fast enough to grab the cripple's arm.

So when the punch was sent at her, she wasn't able to recover from her shock quickly enough to make even a small effort at dodging. Luckily, Mr. Lancaster actually came to her rescue. She wasn't used to patients standing up for her, since she was always seen as an antagonist in this sort of situation, but it seemed that he felt the need to return the favor.
The punch didn't hit nearly as hard as it would have without Lancaster's intervention. It still knocked her to the floor.
By then, the orderlies were rushing over - three of them. They forced Lancaster and Jennings out of the way to get to Cameron, hoping to contain him so they get some sedatives into him.

The punch hit, yes, but it was weakened, and he prepared to bring his fist down on the fallen woman again. Then shadows appeared, and as Caim glanced up, three figures converged on him. Large men, those meant to control the uncontrollable. So similar to the enemies he fought, when he had his sword, when he flew above the land on her back --
They caught his arms and heaved him away from the nurse, but he struggled regardless. Caim had nearly yanked his arm free when it was grabbed again and both were locked firmly at his sides, almost behind his back. He was caught - damn it all! If he had his sword, they wouldn't have stood a chance!

She watched as he was taken away, relaxing when she could tell that the orderlies had him under control. She wasn't certain if they were only going to sedate him, or if he would be taken to solitary as well, but the matter was out of her hands now.
Turning to the two patients were left, both of who were a little roughed up, she sighed and shook her head. "I apologize for that. Did you want to go to the medwing, Mark? Or would you rather be left to finish your breakfast?"
