Peter wasn't entirely reassured that Claire was all right even after the meal that they'd spent together, but there was no way to force her to open up to him completely. All he could do was continue to keep an eye on her and check in on her, though he did hope that they could spend this coming night together. He was doing much better physically and he didn't want to let her run off on her own two times in a row. Of course, that all depended on if they got back to the institute safely, but last week had been all right...
Still, now that he had some food in him it was time to get serious about shopping. He'd let Claire go to do her own exploring, realizing that she probably didn't want to spend an entire day in town with her uncle. That might classify as "lame" or something, even though he didn't know if he really counted as that. Sure, he'd been a male nurse, but he also had superpowers. Not right now, but--
He was probably thinking too hard on this.
No, what he needed to focus on was where to find a bag, but he didn't see any shops that might sell accessories among the main stretch. There had to be bags for sale somewhere. He could always try and get a sturdier grocery bag at Callahan's, but that was a last resort.
In fact, it was as Peter trudged through the snow with a frown on his face that he took note of the furniture shop to his right-hand side. Maybe that would work. It seemed like it mainly sold tables and chairs and beds at first glance, but maybe there were some bags there too, if it was meant for home supplies.
It was a long shot, but he didn't know where else to go and the snow wasn't being very kind to him. Shoving his hands into the pockets of his hoodie, he stepped inside, allowing himself to warm up a bit before he went browsing.
