It was still dark out there, and cold as well. He hadn't realized he was missing his gloves until he rested his hand against the cool wall outside his room. This didn't seem like outside, either, and the darkness was unnerving him. Pure dark, and he stumbled forward one small step at a time trying to figure a way through his fear. So far so good; nothing had managed to come out and kill him yet. No shouting and no attacks or gunshots.
Not that it helped his panic any. Maybe if there were gunshots or something, he would stop trying to imagine monsters in the dark. But the longer the silence and the darkness, the more his paranoia reached new heights. The more his hands shook as he reached for the next portion of wall, waiting for it to come to an end so he could hopefully find another door. Find a way out. He had to find his way back to Sazh and Vanille before he could relax again. Find his way out and not get into any more trouble ( ... )
