Ippo made no pretense of eating. He left his bowl where it sat and endured his roommate's narcissistic abuse, legs bent to his chest as he waited anxiously on his bed for some sign that night had begun. It came in the form of silence and static from the intercom that grew to unbearable levels. His hands covered his ears quickly until the ringing ceased and a voice finally took its place.
The message could only be described as creepy. Completely understandable, given the patient's morale yesterday, but, yeah, just... creepy as hell. The boxer hoped those who were part of the mutiny last morning actually listened to the threat and what it would mean for the rest of them if they remained stubborn. This place was bad enough, pissing off an entire platoon of soldiers was not going to help. If they were willing to tear gas innocent bystanders--well, Ippo didn't want to think of what they would do to truly unruly patients.
Now that he made sure he was completely scared out of his mind, he had to leave the comfort of his room.
Yyyeah.
Aidou didn't stick around long after the announcement. He rifled through some case on his desk and left without a backward glance.
"B-Be careful...!" Ippo shouted after the door had closed. Left to his own devices in the quiet, the young man eventually slipped off his mattress and looked through his own case. He found a flashlight, which was really useful. Ippo clutched it to his chest for dear life as he pondered how insane he truly was for leaving the comfort of his room. The safest thing to do was just got to sleep...
But then Ritsuka would come find him. No, he couldn't let a cute little boy, who refused to raise a fist against anything, run through scary hallways for him. The boxer had to spare him that misery! He was the older of them by, embarrassingly, eight years. If there was... monsters lurking, he was more apt to take one down than a black-haired egg noodle.
And there were chicken fingers to be had. That got Ippo moving quicker towards the bedroom door. Yes, safety and consumption of a friend and chicken fingers were noble causes indeed.
