Talking with friends usually put Anise in a better mood, but the subjects that she, Guy, and Tear covered at lunch were so heavy that Anise couldn't help but feel weighed down afterward. It was hard to think and talk about the terrible things that came about from her lies. She wasn't going to cry, not now, but she felt like she needed a little

That thought made him shudder.
Though his stomach pains weren't completely forgotten as his soldier helped shove him into a big black coat (his hat still didn't fall off), they certainly were when the door outside opened and he was greeted with his first eyeful of -
Snow, he thought. Snow. He had never seen it before, but he knew exactly what it was. Even in the memories that were disconnected from himself, Roxas didn't recall ever seeing it. It was like ( ... )

Roxas stared at the snowball for a moment before he went back to Sora's face with his own full of perplexity. "Are you going -" his stomach growled loudly, making him pause for a second to sigh, "to eat it or something?" Okay, so part of the blame for that question could go to the fact that it was really hard to think about anything besides food, but part of it also came from the fact that Roxas was thinking that it... looked pretty edible, really. He wasn't sure why that came to mind, but he figured it was a relatively safe feeling. It's not like he got urges to eat grass or other inedible things ( ... )

That was it, then. Another nightly happening. Another who had pressed against her mind. She did not know if she liked Byrne Faraday or wanted nothing more to do with him. It was not yet in her to decide. All she knew at the moment was emotional exhaustion; something entirely foreign and completely unwanted.

More truthful than she would otherwise be. Whether or not it would happen again, it remained as such. An Angel, something that masqueraded as one, and Byrne Faraday. Three, now, had entered her mind, forced their emotions on her, giving the sensation that was becoming known--to accept that will, to give in to becoming another.
She was herself. Only herself. This was a permanent fact, unmoving, and yet, she felt her body lightly shaking.

She reached out to touch her hand but stopped when she noticed the other tremble. Aigis' mind whirled, trying to figure out what could be wrong, then remembered she had shaken much her first time out in the courtyard with Junpei a week ago. She thought that surely Rei must be cold.
"Here." Aigis sat on the bench right up next to Rei and reached to put her arms around her. That had been Junpei's response to her own shivering. It was natural, right?

At the sound of the familiar voice, Anise turned her head sharply, scowling when she saw the God-General approaching. She hadn't seen him in so long that she was beginning to hope he'd disappeared, and this was the time he picked to show up? Getting harassed by Sync was the last thing Anise needed right now ( ... )

Claude walked across the courtyard with a purpose, his boots crunching in the fresh snow. He couldn't help but think back on all those times Sync had sought him out on purpose for his own sick entertainment. That boy had even gone as far as messing up his lunch while he'd been blind. As if he hadn't gotten enough kicks from murdering Guy! If it weren't for the guards, Claude would have gladly tried socking him in the face every time they passed each other between shifts. The realization that Sync probably went out of his way to taunt the others didn't help ebb that feeling much. Instead, it made his blood boil so hot that he scarcely noticed the chilled air anymore.
While he could have caused a scene by yelling at him, Claude instead stopped at the girl's side, his eyes narrowing at the monster who'd caused them all so much grief in the basement.
"You'd better not be bothering Anise," he said in a low tone.

"For you to stay just as you are," Sync pointed out.
But just as he was about to continue he heard the crunch of footsteps moving closer, green eyes glancing off to the side to catch a familiar blond making his way over. And instead of showing any frustration for being outnumbered, the God-General remained amused that Claude would have the nerve to bother him in the first place.
"Why? Are you getting jealous for being left out, Claude?" He wasn't stupid; starting anything in broad daylight would only bring trouble to all of them. Unlike some, he actually thought this was common sense.

"You almost fill out that uniform..." The second child teased harmlessly. Since Junpei had left, she had no one to pick on. And Kaworu only made her more furious than a good beating was worth. Almost. "So, were you lucky enough to get food today, or was it jumping jacks for you?"

He still didn't know how to feel about her. The last time he'd seen her she'd been comatose. She'd been in the hospital. But here, she didn't remember any of it. She didn't remember being replaced. She didn't remember anything. And he wasn't sure whether he wanted to tell her or not. Wouldn't that make her angry? Wouldn't that make her hate him even more? There was resentment, buried under all of his worry and cringing. Resentment for her always berating him. Putting him down. Even if she was probably right.
"Um... they let me eat. W-why? Did they not feed you?"
