While being one man short would make the plan more difficult, Souji was right in his assessment that it would still work as previously planned. It was that or simply abort the mission, and while that might be safer, it would also accomplish absolutely nothing. They had to take the chance while it was there and hope that the risks they were taking paid out in the end

Asuka moved silently behind the shisengumi in front of her, thrilled to be apart of an efficient mission once again. Sitting on her butt every day was only dulling her combat skills, and after so many unsatisfying nights getting nowhere with her co-pilots and the other strange dregs of the Landel's population, it was a refreshing to find people willing to take the same kind of action that possessed her. Thankfully the dim lighting hid the triumphant smirk that marred her pretty face
