There was no one in the hallways. Bella couldn't help but feel the fear spike up for a moment when she realized that her light was the only on visible, but she quickly swallowed it down, chanting that same mantra over and over again in her head. No one was out because she had ran out of the room quickly, that was all.
Okay, stick to

She paused at the general hallway of the dorms in remembrance. Their group tonight included Anise, and given this was the only female block in the hospital, perhaps half of the meeting could begin now. It would also give the young woman a chance to properly ensure her junior had been taken care of. Anise had mentioned being okay, but...
Well...
It would only be a reassurance, right?
Tear stepped toward the wall closest to the exit and waited. Not for long, of course; though it was only the beginning of the night, she couldn't discard the chance that Anise had already gone ahead.

As Anise exited the dark hall and found herself in another, that ominous feeling only grew stronger. Everything about the building just seemed off, from the floor to the walls to the furniture in her room. She couldn't even guess at what country she was in at the moment.
Where was Anise even going? She wasn't sure. Out seemed like a good place to start, but she didn't know which way the exit was...
... Someone was there. Anise pointed her light over at the figure standing nearby, and her eyes immediately lit up with recognition and excitement. Tear! She was dressed weird too, but it was definitely her.
"Tear!!"
Anise bounded over to the older girl, happy to finally see something familiar. "Am I glad to see you!" That was for sure. For a minute there, she was scared that everyone had left her behind somewhere. Although... looking around, Anise didn't see any signs of their other friends. "So... what's going on? Where's everyone else?" she asked after a pause.

The main hallway, like the most of the walk, was more or less routine for Claire at this point. It all looked the same, and she'd lost that piece of her that had been so paranoid as to check for people every time she moved through. Running into Elle felt like so long ago by now that she didn't feel the same dire need to make sure no one in there was out to get her.
Besides, she hadn't met anyone in the institute who she had reason to be afraid of who didn't have a y-chromosome.

She had everything she needed, so ... why did Kairi feel like she was forgetting something? Or, at least, like something bad was going to happen? She wanted to blame it on the fact that there was a new, potentially horrifying man supposedly in charge of the asylum. Not to mention there was some project going on ... but still. If she was being honest, she knew that it had nothing to do with these things, and instead just had to do with her heart. Why?
"Let's just get to Sora and Riku, okay? That way you'll feel better," she whispered to herself, a soft sigh escaping her lips. Her friends always made her feel better, no matter what mood she had originally been in. Wasn't that was friendship was? Having the ability to wipe any kind of emotion away and replace it with comfort.
At least, that was how she felt about her friends.

Now, where to?
Rita wanted to test not only whether the spell would work or not, but also the range and effectiveness against a live target. She was confident enough in her research that she fully expected it would have some effect, but there could be some fine-tuning required.
A monster would make good target practice. She'd just have to find one.
Going outside seemed like the best way to accomplish that. Monsters normally lived out in the wild, so it would make sense if there were more outdoors than indoors. Not that the institute usually followed what was 'normal,' but normal logic was all Rita had to work with, so she'd try to apply it wherever she could.

Her brown boots clacked down the hallways as she went, hands in her jacket pockets and smirking as though she was Queen of the world. Tonight would be good.
