Is this purely out of interest in the subject? Or something else?

I'm interested in anything related to magic, but if I can find some information with practical applications, that's even better.

I see.

What would count as 'magic' to you? Or rather, what would you consider normal?

I suppose it gets a little difficult to define when we're considering how differently it might work within various worlds, but... to put it loosely, I'd consider magic to be any abilities or techniques, either innate or learned, that allow people to manipulate or convert energy to create a desired result.

To put it simpler and more specifically, the magic I'm most familiar with allows humans to use a particular type of stone to cast spells, conjuring things like fireballs or tidal waves.

Other forms involve borrowing the powers of spirits, or using symbols to manipulate and convert mana into usable magical energy.

Did that answer your question?

It did, thank you.

Though in that case, I'm rather useless to you then. My world is comparatively ordinary. We make use of technology to convert energy and are not capable of the sort 'spells' you mentioned. It's rather impossible, actually.

[While Ningenkai's technology was certainly 'ordinary,' Makai's inhabitants and technology certainly fit the category. But he'd rather not make this public knowledge for now. So selective sharing of information it is.]

Chances are that your technology might count as 'otherworldly' to me. Not that you have to share if you don't want to, though.

I see. Perhaps I could tell you more tomorrow then. This sounds like an interesting topic to compare notes over.

I've got a full schedule tomorrow for face-to-face talks, but I'll keep in touch. I'd like to hear what you've got.

That's fine. If you like, maybe if you could put up another post like this tomorrow, I could share what I have through notes so as to avoid taking up too much of your time?

Works for me. I'll do that.
