Something about St. Patrick running all of the snakes out of Ireland? That bastard...
Err, well I think my friends know my opinion about drinking and the sort, though I just enjoy it to justly get the chance to hit/pinch/tackle friends for not wearing green.
Humans are silly, "With the exception of New Years and Forth of July, we've managed to screw all the holidays up the ass, how about another catholic one?" "HOORAY!"

It's not really really funny until they use 4-leaf clovers (pagan good luck symbol or ward vs. fairies or something) instead of shamrocks (3-leaf clovers used by St. Pat to explain the trinity).

I know what St. Patrick's day is about, but I don't celebrate it. Same with Mardi Gras.

"It all feels so... *sacreligous.*"

Exactly. We should be celebrating a saint. A saint who brought Christianity to the Irish pagans. This holiday should be ennobled with religious significance, and no one should be allowed to party because it is a sin.
I'm more or less serious.

And you were worried about me being seduced by our hedonistic, humanistic modern culture. :p

While, you know how that goes.
People start hanging out with decadent friends, after a while they turn to debauchery.
I know you can handle yourself, but I still feel a robust concern for my Brother in the Way.

I can honestly say I don't know why it's celebrated. All these years of being brought up in a Catholic household, I've merely celebrated because it's tradition to do so in my family. I never questioned why, and merely accepted that it was always a special day in my family to celebrate togetherness, strength as a family unit, and our Irish heritage. I should start questioning things more often, you have sparked my interest.

I will go ask my parents immediately! n_n
