Well, that was fun . . . more or less.

Hey, all! Just a quick note to let everyone know I haven't abandoned LJ for good -- not even close! I just had a whole lot of Life to deal with the last few months, and simply did not have time to keep up with everything online at the same time. All's well, though ( Read more... )

Nice to hear from you again. I'm glad your back and that everything is good with you. I'm just coming back to LJ myself after a RL interruption.

I'm also extremely behind on my DW and Torchwood watching (I've not seen anything past season 4 for DW and season 2 for Torchwood). I guess I needed to take a hiatus after DT left. But I've heard that 11 is not so bad, and ever more interesting things about Amy Pond, and River Song. I plan to start season 5 this weekend and hopefully I'll be up to date by the end of this month. Until then I've been staying out of the DW forums since I'm completely unspoiled and plan to stay that way.

Heya! We're in the same boat, then, sounds like. :)

I've been enjoying Eleven's time as the Doctor; they start out season 5 a bit breakneck (there's this sense they're trying to prove how awesome the new Doctor is, *really*), but they hit their groove about halfway through. Oddly, though, I have almost no desire to write fic for the new era. I guess whatever that indefinable something was, it departed with the previous creative team. Still a fun show, however.

The post-S2 series of Torchwood are . . . interesting, certainly, but not the same sort of thing as what went before. I get the impression RTD is taking SF miniseries ideas he's had kicking around (that were never on the table for production) and retrofitting them to be Torchwood, if that makes sense; there's this strong sense of it being "not really Torchwood" despite the presence of familiar characters. People's mileage really seems to vary on those series.

It's great to 'see' you again! I'm glad you're doing okay. :) You haven't missed a whole lot, I don't think. The beauty of LJ: it's like you were never away!

It does seem pretty familiar, now that I'm back in it. :) Good to "see" you, too!

Welcome back! Glad to hear all is well with you :)

You won't find anything on my LJ about DW anyway - I've given up on it until a new team (writer/producer as well as actors) takes over. You most likely won't have heard of my new fandom interest! *g*

Once you've settled in again, what's the chance of some new writing from you? ;)

Heya! Actually, I'm pretty familiar with your new fandom, at least in that I've certainly heard of "Inspector Lewis" -- my folks are big fans. I grew up watching the "Inspector Morse" shows, so I at least know who the main character is. ;) "Lewis" started airing when I didn't have access to PBS, and I've never really gotten around to catching up, but I probably will one of these days -- especially if I get set up for Netflix, as I hope to soon.

I'm definitely hoping to get back into writing. I've missed it, and have a lot of stories I'd like to finish telling!
