I also liked the comment from the friend who posted it to Facebook initially. He said, "Spokane, WA gets just a little bit more national recognition..." which cracked me up. Yeah, our region tends to make national headlines with News Of The Weird-type things, more often than not. :)
Brilliant! I'm just not sure I buy the convenient coincidence of snow interfering with exactly the right circuits/whatnot to produce that particular reconfiguration of the sign.....
My impression was that blown snow filled in the protective grille in front of the lighted image. If so, I strongly suspect that the snow blocked all the fingers at some point, and someone with a long stick or pole or something got a little artistic. :)
Then again, weirder stuff has happened by blind chance, too . . .
