I think Moffat's style just appeals to me more. I loved pretty much all of the RTD-era episodes, but my favorites were the Moffat ones. I especially like the timey-wimey plotting.

I love fairy-tale like things, especially stories written in the fairy-tale mode. I got to hear Catherynne M. Valente reading the first few chapters of Deathless at ConBust and she completely won me over. I've been listening to the audio version of The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland In A Ship Of Her Own Making on my way to work.
