Nifty new BBC Doctor Who "Ten to Eleven" promo image.

Spoilers if you live under a rock don't already know what the Eleventh Doctor looks like, I guess, but nothing more . . .

I'd say this makes up for a fair number of dodgy Photoshop promos in the past . . . <3

I live under a rock. I've never seen a single ep of the new series. Of course, I stopped watching television a couple years before the new series began. I know you can find and watch this stuff online, but I really hate sitting at my desk to watch anything longer than ten minutes or so. Five minutes gets tedious, even. So I haven't. I stay under my rock.

It's safer under here.

Well, you can also rent the series (Netflix has most of it, actually, as do a lot of rental places) but nothing says you *have* to. Rocks make vary cozy homes, after all. ;) :D (Heck, I still haven't seen any Buffy, beyond the very first episode, since that ran during the 10 years I didn't have TV, so I think we're even.)

The comment about living under a rock was more a tongue-in-cheek nod to the Doctor Who fandom's tendency towards spoiler-phobia. Not that I don't appreciate spoiler warnings (I like for there to be a *few* surprises by the time I actually get to see an episode of a fave TV show), but it can get very, very silly.

Oh but I do live under a rock in most facets of society these days. And, as you say, it's quite cozy! Buffy I own on DVD - and Angel, and Firefly as well, of course. Joss Whedon is a NERD GOD!!!1!

I do adore Dr. Who, have a few episodes (when I say a few, I mean I have two cases full of tapes) of each doc up through McCoy, and love Troughton the best, though most people don't. It's just the new stuff I've never seen, though I've only ever heard good things about it.

I have Firefly and Dr. Horrible on DVD. Didn't get interested in Dollhouse, though. For the most part, though, Joss's name is enough to get my interest. :)

Yeah, I know you know Classic Who . . . NuWho is kind of the same mixed bag of brilliance, Deep Thoughts, terrible science, outright cheese, and OMGWTF? The effects are generally better, though, and best of all they've kept the same sort of looney sensibilites as the original.

Here, as a sample, just because I found it while looking for something else and it seemed apropos, is the (totally out-of-context) clip from which I got my blog's tagline. Enjoy. :)
