More proof that David Tennant is a True Fan . . .

Jul 27, 2009 21:58

Just read this interview, and was reminded all over again just how much of a fellow fan DT is.  The interviewer was asking him about the upcoming season of Doctor Who with the new production team:

IGN: Will you be jealous if the episodes are really great?

Tennant: I'm sure there will be a mixture.

I genuinely lol-ed at that because, yeah, if there ( Read more... )

What endeared me even more was the obvious love he had that he'd been sent The Suit and given a sonic screwdriver (in a special box!), that he has on display in his place. ::pets him:: Such a fanboy, yes.

ETA: OMG. I put this up with the snog!squee icon just to see if it would sync with the one posted above, and they do! BWAH!

Oh yes David is absolutely one of us. I too adored the mention of his coat and a sonic. It was so sweet. You can really tell he prizes them greatly. He's defiantly a fan boy.

And you are so right about fans appreciating Doctor who for all it's foibles and successes put together. Speaking as a fan who fell in love with the classic show when it had a much lower budget and writing that wasn't as emotionally in depth as Uncle Rusty's version, yeah Who has never been perfect, but it's ours shaky sets and melodrama included. Even with all that it's brilliant and David thinks so too. :) *Fluffs his hair*

He wasn't referring to their being a mixture of great and non-great episodes, though; when he says "I'm sure there will be a mixture" he's talking about himself feeling a mixture of emotions when watching, both happiness and jealousy. It's more clear what he means from the audio and unedited stuff. I doubt he'd say, "I'm sure some episodes won't be good."
