i hope Sarah is o.k. They say those episodes usually happen once and never recur. My brother had a similar thing happen about twelve years ago. He woke up one morning totally disoriented. He didn't know where he was or how to do things he commonly did. He was supposed to drive his wife to hospital 50 miles away for treatment. She ended up driving him in and we took charge of him while she went for her treatment. He was already more or less coherent by the time the emergency room doctor saw him. The doctor gave it a name (which i forget) and said it probably would not happen again. It didn't.

Sarah has that sort of thing every now and again, thought it's probably been a year or so. Usually it's an aura period before or after a seizure, although one would think that if she had a seizure someone on the bus would have noticed. Some folks were chagrined that I didn't take her to the hospital, but i know from experience there's nothing much the hospital can do--you just kinda wait for it to pass. Going to the hospital tends to just involve them repeatedly asking if she's sure she's not just high until she feels really bad about herself. Sometimes I lament having a sickly dependent as an extra cross to bear, but really, i can't imagine how frustrating it is for her to be so impaired and so isolated in it.

I had forgotten (or never knew) about her seizures.
She is lucky to have you for a friend. (and i know from my own experience that you are lucky to have her as a friend.)
