I knew this would be good when the opening paragraph mentioned Betty trying to avoid falling in her heels!

Man, I could feel the tension as he went to pick her up. Easy to imagine Daniel and Betty both looking fab and being nervous around each other. I loved that she made him spell it out with her "so, just to be clear..." and his laugh in response.

Your Claire was spot-on: asking lots of questions, making both of them nervous, and being genuinely and deliriously happy when she recognized that her son's feelings were reciprocated.

Good to see a nod to their bridge moment but happy to see that they can look to the future and new bridges....

My only question for you: why is this the final chapter?

LOL, I love Betty in heels. I feel like that would be something she would have to be careful about, and it's definitely something I can relate to, so I love putting that in. I love Claire so much - her character is the perfect confidante for Betty and for Daniel, and she's just so cool ( ... )

This was lovely, Damember. Nice work with description in the tense scene in the apartment--I felt like I could see how they were dressed and what their body language was saying. Do you have more challenge posts to come?
