I really enjoyed this.  It's a new take on modern urban fantasy, with magical and non magical worlds meeting in a between place called "the edge", where magic is weak and residents make do the best they can

Have you read the Greywalker books by Kat Richardson? I've only just finished the first (of at least three), but based on that one I'd recommend them to fans of urban fantasy (and of fantasy-noir, a la Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden or Pat Elrod's Vampire Files, in particular).
