Cinco de What?

I had the car today so I went searching for supper. I wanted something Mexican--my favorite things being fajitas and nachos. The problem with wanting Mexican here is that most of it is actually too authentic for my palate. I grew up with Tex Mex. I would kill for an On the Border around here. Wow. DDDDDD: Dang... what a horrid experience. =( I sure hope that will never happen again, yeah.

Also, it wasn't until I saw your post that I realized what today was. They usually have a big to-do in my town, but not this year, apparently

With some of the restaurants we go out to eat to, I've learned that when certain waitstaff who don't speak English well are taking my order, to just order something straight from the menu, as opposed to asking something with tofu added, or to hold the fish sauce, etc. So depending on who's waiting on us, I may order something different than I had really wanted. You're right, it'd be nice if they all understood English well.

My waitress was pretty good. This was some fellow who was higher ranked than a bus person but not a waiter as far as I could tell (I never saw him take an original order from any table). Ah well, we live and learn.
