Since Friday, I've seen The Italian Job, Iron Man, Wall-E, "Journey's End" (new Dr. Who season 4 finale), and The Incredible Hulk.

The one I'm going to talk about: The Incredible Hulk

Why I Liked It

I should start off with some explanation first. I came to be a Hulk fan through the television series. According to some people on IMDb, this is a crime. ( Read more... )

And now they've planted the seed for the eventual Captain America, with the serum use in this film. Also, did you catch what happened to Mr. Blue after he was injured by Blonsky in the lab? It was quick, but it's a villain setup for a Hulk sequel.

While we're on the subject, did you also think that Roth's physique was just a tad scrawny and concave-chested to be a convincing Royal Marine of years' service, not to mention his other role in the film? A bit buff-less, wasn't he?

And you caught the name of the student whose cellphone capture was used on the local broadcast for instant media fame, right?

I saw that! I think I found most of the references I was told about.

Yeah, he was, but since I heard he wasn't allowed to work out for the film, it was a creative decision for him to be all gone to seed and over the hill.

Ed Norton is so fantastic. I wasn't that into the movie all in all, although I did enjoy it, but he did some good work with what they gave him.

He's one of those actors who just have such a wonderful presence. I think he could play more or less any role he wanted and get the audience to accept it.

I particularly liked his body language and confusion during the misspoken Brazilian scene.

"Don't make me....hungry?! You wouldn't like me when I'm hungry??"

It was one of those lovely little 'this isn't working' moments that he can do so well. Although more than once I had to crack the joke:

"The first rule of the Incredible Hulk is, we don't talk about the (Ang Lee) Hulk."

Just because it was him.
