Saturday September 24th and 25th - The Baltimore Book Festival

Cool! I thought about doing that, but instead I will be camping with the Boy Scouts.;-)

It was a pretty good event. Was supposed to rain all weekend but only did so Friday (the day Mike and I had planned not to go, anyway.)

How was your camping trip?

It was wonderful. It was Orville and Roland and I and the Scoutmaster. No one else could make it. It was Roland's first camping trip with the Scouts and he did just great. He even learned to tie a bolin and a square knot!

He did so well that he got his first badge of rank. John took him on Monday to the Scout meeting to get it. Before the meeting I told Orville that the Scoutmaster had asked them to come in full uniform, because their would be visitors. Orville got decked out, but Roland only had a shirt, and kerchief.

When I saw Roland later, he looked realy snazzy. In addition to his shirt he was wearing Orville's Scouting shorts. I told John that I thought it had been an excellent idea to put him in those. John replied: "He did that all by himself."

Roland went and found a uniform shirt (not the one I'd left with John) and Orville's Scouting shorts all on his own. When he came home, he carefully put them back in Orville's drawer.
