Thank you for your consideration to those in less need.

Zero dollars were raised towards the cause using this method. *shrugs* guess my boss is going to be disappointed. Who cares.

Ever notice how almost no one comments on posts involving donations?

That said, meh, United Way, and a couple other charities do company wide drives at my workplace. I'm fool enough to give them a portion of my paycheck for x amount of weeks.

My boss is crazy about getting donations towards this cause. I started vacation the same day that the drive started and she is not taking that as an excuse to miss out on getting donations towards the cause.

So I put up a donation button to see if I can get something towards the cause while I'm gone on vacation.

Had the button up for 3 days already and nothing. I didn't think it would be completely dry but I guess folks are saving their monies for MFF or just don't have the finances to consider to donate. Which makes sense to me. Why spend the money to feed some other family when you need to put food on your own table.

I understand how that is, despite having my career I'm still living paycheck to paycheck. But it wasn't too long ago I was staring homelessness in the face. I only put in 5 bucks a week into the pot, but thats still a decent sized donation in the grand scheme, when you stretch it out into the year long commitment it is.

Overall my company raised something like 10 million for United Way, and they've got an agreement set up so wherever we are (since we're nationwide) thats where our donations go. For my terminal its the Tampa metro area, for Detroit terminal its the metro area, etcetera.

United way is also a good charity to give to because while all nonprofits take a cut to cover expenses, the average is somewhere around 30 cents on the dollar, but united is more along the lines of 17.
