I have both of those books too and I LOVE them!! Yes, the Art book definitely has too little Tia for my flavor. . . . But Gibbs' Pirate Code, errr, I mean Guidelines book has inspired me to take up learning how to tie knots!
Hey, deepseasiren, I posted a pic earlier on here with Davy's transformation, if you're interested. It makes a nice desktop wallpaper but make sure to click two or three times to get the full size.
(By the way, without doubt, you have the absolute best swag collection I've ever seen.)
Hmmm, some pretty interesting stuff in there. I love the part where is says, "Tia Dalma was an extremely seductive creature who cast an enticing but tangled net." Although, it should be "is an extremely seductive creature." :D
In this movie companion book ( I think it's Give Me That Horizon or something) Naomie Harris says she liked playing Tia Dalma because Tia was mysterious, fiery, and tempermental..but that she did not do anything from the 'goodness of her heart..' there had to be something in it for HER. The way I see it is that the whole POTC movie trilogy can be loosely seen as her motivating all the events because Davy Jones is also involved...after all he was the one who 'raised' the Black Pearl from the depths, hence Jack owing his soul, and Davy Jones' romance with Tia...all are intertwined and are related somehow to HER.

It intrigues me that Calypso was the protector of all sailors, yet the brethren still saw fit to imprison her.

'Later, as we made our way to the Brethren Court, we learned that her reason for helping us bring Jack back was not as unselfish as we thought have. '
