Yes, I've been quiet. Partially been doing stuff, but partially having way more trouble reading and writing - I'm really having to pick where I'm putting my time, energy and concentration - so LJ is way behind in priorities of other stuff. ( Read more... )

My previous description was "runs like a duck in leg-irons" but it was time to come up with a new one, glad you liked it.

Thank you. I have to say that cattle and sheep - it's all much easier when it comes to babies.

I'd also highly recommend looking into infant swimming classes-the sort where you swim with them. I was reasonably confident about myself in water, but have found them to be a great comfort (as well as _heaps_ of fun). They allow me to feel assured about handling a (wet! slippery!) child in water-and take the two kids swimming on my own. Both of ours started lessons about 5 months old, and are still doing them.

It won't help you 'rescue' them necessarily, but it will give you confidence that they might cope for a minute-which will give you more time.

And they're fun:-)

Interesting that you're doing the ante-natal classes now - usually they don't start until about 32 weeks.

Pregnancies range in the class from 24-34 weeks.

You'd love Canberra hospital. Every option for giving birth from 'traditional', standing, water-birth, etc.

seeing as you're not up on LJ stuff...
i had some sort of stroke starting monday. Been to hospital twice. Today's the first relatively normal day I've had.

I'm still finding out what sorts of things I'll be having trouble with. Kerr's been quizzing me on all sorts of stuff. So I feel for you in the whole training deal.

I still don't know how you're brave enough to look fafter a child full time in your condition. hats off to you.
