Aww, this fic hurts. You know I'm not in the fandom any more, but it's nice to know that there are wonderful writers like you keeping up the fic in case I ever decide to come back. It was very poignant annnnnd WRITE MORE. (ALSO, WE MUST MAKE PLANS SOON :D)

You know how some birds fly at their own reflection (nearly killing themselves over something that isn't even there)? That's the mental image I always get when I hear the end of this song, and I thought it sort of fit the story. :) Plus, I was listening to it at the time, so...

omg yes. I was so close to going to see them in Chicago back in May or June, but a lack of moneys stopped me D: They are basically the best thing on Earth. <3

My friend and I were going to go to a Democrat rally thing this last November in Ohio, and The National were going to be playing there! Sadly, we couldn't get transportation worked out...:(

They pretty much are. I ignore a lot of the stuff I used to listen to before I was introduced to them. :)

I apparently need a new heart for Xmas, because this story just tore mine out and ran away with it. It was, however, brutally beautiful. For some reason it's hard to imagine one out-living the other successfully, they're just that good together.

I agree. Also, with House's Vicodin, older age, and generally destructive behavior, I think he'd go before Wilson. :( It's hard to imagine one without the other; I had trouble enough when they made Wilson leave for those two months.
