It's THE perfect ending for the Merlin tv show, although I hope that there are many more seasons...
Uther is not OCC, the reasoning that he doesn't want to be indepted to magic and a sorcerer makes his choices very understandable. I like how he gives his last advice, all because of his love for his son.
The official proclamation for lifting the ban is fantastic, I actually saw it playing in my mind. Sweet shy Merlin... and the flower petals.

I loved that Uther was still prejudiced even after Merlin saved his life. A leopoard cant change its spots :)
