Things were happening all around Chii. First there was a lot of talk with words she didn't quite understand, but mostly mention of going home. Now that had sounded very nice!

But everyone had to go into the one room and then they couldn't go anywhere until some other peoples said so!

It was a good thing someone had thought to bring Chii's box, she thought to herself as she used it. Otherwise it might have gotten messy. Hopping out, the kitten poked around the room, there was nothing that she hadn't seen before, but she was starting to go stir-crazy!

"Mya! What is happening???" she finally shouted. Hopefully someone would help her out.

Sherry hadn't been pleased when Rebecca and Billy had to leave her, but had decided to not complain. She had been pacing the safe room, and looked down at the kitten when it cried for answers.

She should really stop being surprised about things, now that people were shooting laser beams and god knew what else around. "I think they're firing the big guns. Don't worry, it'll be over soon." I hope. Sherry knelt down and held out her hand to Chii.

Chii sniffed at the new hand, and decided that it was okay. She rubbed up against it, arching her back.

"Chii heard lots of talk about home. Is Chii going to go home?"

Aladar learned hard against the wall, hoping for relief. He was still clad in the armor Toph had made for him, but underneath was the sharp sting of an intense itch. After a few minutes he gave up and waited for the discomfort to ebb.

Time was growing short. It wouldn't be long before they'd have to take the guards head-on. Now that he'd be free to use the top deck, he'd finally have free range of motion. The spikes on his armor would be useful. As much as he wasn't looking forward to the guards shooting for any vulnerable spot they could find, Aladar knew his role. It was a part of leading the way and ensuring anyone he escorted got there safely.

Now it was just a matter of waiting.

COMMUNICATION CENTER tagruato_corp September 22 2009, 04:31:26 UTC
Re: COMMUNICATION CENTER thefearprocess September 24 2009, 01:39:23 UTC
Janine was not particularly good at fighting, but she wasn't going to sit by and allow things to happen any longer. It wasn't as though she had any skills that were useful for defending the safe zone or healing the wounded, so she'd taken up a tranquilizer gun that had been dropped by a guard on the first day and gone along with a raiding mission. Some people had mentioned a type of smokebomb that could suppress special abilities, so it was for the best to bring along people without them, who weren't used to relying on them.

A quick glance at the room they were storming was enough to reveal that it was some sort of communications area. There was a problem, though, at the doorway. Some members of the raiding team were being bounced back as if by an invisible shield, but not all. Janine was able to get through with no problems. She could have stopped to deduce a pattern, but she had no time right now. She was too busy taking aim and shooting at the members of Tagruato's army.

Riza was right behind the young girl. The raiding party wasn't too big, thankfully, because Riza felt if it was they never would have made it through. Still, there were a lot of guards around to take care of. Riza had plenty of guns and ammo to act as support.

It was easy for Riza to slip through the shield, too. Strange, but there wasn't any time to analyze it. She had a hunch what it meant though.

"Keep going, I'll keep your back," Riza called to the girl, taking out more guards with deadly accuracy.

Since she was firing tranquilizer darts rather than bullets, Janine was bolder about shooting than she otherwise would have been. Her aim wasn't the best, but aiming for the torso gave her a lot of leeway; hitting an arm or a leg was just as efficient.

The eye was another story altogether, though. It was hard to say at that moment who was in more of a panicked state when it happened, Janine or the guard she'd hit. But then he went down, and she lost it. Instinctively she backed into a corner, trying her best to get away from all of this.

What was she doing here?

ALL-EBA MISSION eba02 October 3 2009, 01:48:36 UTC
They still weren't out of the woods yet, J knew. He could hear people gearing up to fight or already in battle, doing everything they could to find a way off these ships and back home.

And yet he still couldn't help but grin, because he could also hear his teammates with him. Elphaba had helped Spin and Chieftain get to the Pinnacle (at which point J had laughed himself silly, because that had been a sight to behold) while Temeraire had brought Starr and Missy - Foxx, they explained, was taking a crack at the computer that had brought them there. If there was anyone who could handle that, J reasoned, it was Foxx. As for the rest of them...well, they had a job to do.

He closed his eyes, listened for the strongest tune, and took hold of it - Kang. He'd met Kang, though the tunes he could hear around the Draconian's were unfamiliar. Of course, that had never stopped him.

They're locking up the sun
The light of reason gone
And hope has been successfully undoneIt wasn't a tune he knew, and it didn't have the energetic snap to it that ( ... )

When the others arrived with their unique transportation methods, Derek didn't say much. He had greeted them with a few words, a nod, and maybe a smile, but all the more heartfelt greetings had been used up the previous day. Or so Derek told himself. He was concentrating mostly on the upcoming mission, but he found himself able to stand a little taller when he saw them.

He listened, the notes starting almost menacingly. So that was the song in the Music. They couldn't start this mission any sooner. Derek quickly moved in step with the others, sliding into the next verse.

It's a bad trip on a sinking ship
When no-one seems responsible
Scapegoat to rock the boat
Yeah, we need someone expendableNo. They did not. Too many had already been lost on both sides. No one person could exist without touching another in some way, especially here. Each loss and separation carried on to another, and a good part of life was who one spent it with. He should know. A lot of people should know ( ... )

It was a big warm reunion, seven out of the eight. Morris could only imagine that Foxx was feeling annoyed for sticking out of this last step, but she had somewhere else to put her focus into.

They'd all do what they could, where it was most needed. Seven would be more than enough.

Is there a hero somewhere,
someone who appears and saves the day
Someone who holds out a hand and turns back time

If all his breath weren't focused on getting through the dance, with its sweeping motions and whipping pace, Morris would have laughed. Oh, there were plenty around here who could fill in for that question. Hundreds, maybe. And feeling the beat of those powerful people taking their stand only made the song more eager.

Agent 03 belted out a "Yeah!" for emphasis on the next lines:

Is there a hero somewhere,
someone who will never walk away
Who doesn't turn a blind eye to a crimeMore and more, all the time. Each person in turn was taking charge, taking names to remind this company of what they'd done. They weren't going to let this off ( ... )

Hearing the guitar turn into some kind of haunting call in the the Music, Derek wondered if others could hear it as well. He knew that Foxx could from where she was, but who was to tell with other abilities. Maybe not as Music, but something else. If anything, they were pounding this area of the ship hard, and the noise must have formed its own rhythm.

They're locking up the sun
They have their chosen one,
You know this time they'll make him play along

The song might have slowed a little, but not the Agents. While doing a quick set of steps, facing one way then the other, Derek could hear more beats join them. Reinforcements for both as other beats went silent. And still more beats strengthened from the EBA's motivation.

They're taking to the arms
The fathers and their sons,
There's nowhere left to run and hideThe stakes were high, and people fought will all they had. If everyone failed, there wouldn't be a second chance. It was forward or nothing. Derek used the backbeat as instruction into the next verse and focused the ( ... )
