A part of him wonders whether or not he should have waited for Zidane's response to his question online, but the prospect of a gift was too powerful to ignore, not only because it had been awhile since he'd last received one, but a distraction amidst the sudden change in atmosphere was more than welcome. The tension in the air was difficult to ignore. Something was bound to happen sooner or later. Just what he needed to prepare for, however, he had only the slightest of clues. It was better to take advantage of the lulls one was given than to allow them to pass and do nothing, was it not?
The demon strolls up to Zidane's room and knocked. He had yet to hear of Sara's disappearance, and so had no idea as to the true nature of the "gift" he was about to be given. Suffice to say, if he had, he wouldn't be in as good a mood as he was now.
Zidane doesn't much grin or express any joy when he opens the door to Vyers' bubbling nature. A "gift"? No, no not at all. Maybe Sara wrote good things, but it all came down to the same fact: she was gone.
He gazes up at the demon, his whole form a bit on the lifeless side - tail and all. He doesn't quite move to let him in, like he's forgotten that he needs to. Too focused on the fact that there's a friendly other here - that he has to keep above the waves and stay determined.
But even waiting for Vyers just to get there was enough time for him to think, on his own.
He draws in a breath and finally steps back to give Vyers room to enter. "I hate to be a downer and burst your enthusiasm but..." he trails off and glances away, slightly uncertain.
If he admits to it out loud... it's cementing the truth...
The first thing Vyers notices is Zidane's mood. The young man seems almost catatonic. Either something had happened in the time it took him to get to Zidane's room or this visit was meant to be much more solemn than he had first imagined. Somehow he expected the latter
( ... )
Ah, the demon was perceptive; Zidane appreciated that. It was unfortunate that he did have to be the one to comfort the two of them, but that seemed how things went here.
He nods to a table near the center of the room, where an envelope rests with Vyers' name on it. "She planned ahead, after realizing that... these things happen. She wrote you something." He cocks his head to the side and grins, just barely. "Don't worry, I didn't peak."
