Tara, in the meantime, had been roaming the Strand. She'd heard a little bit of a commotion as a few people left to head home, and while that didn't necessarily mean something was up, she'd lived around Harry long enough to know when he was planning something. And this smacked of schemes.

Oh, hey, look at that. "All right, what did I miss?" she came out and asked Rosette as she pulled up a seat next to her friend.

Dang, and she'd been hoping for a nap. Rosette opened her eyes and sat up to see Tara, who definitely was looking better than she had been the past few weeks. Maybe Rosette needed to start looking a little closer to home.

"A hell of a lot," she said flatly. "Evidently someone got a file from the people who've been keeping us here..." This was going to be tough to say. "The long and short of it is, they want to turn us all into monsters, and they're going to kill the healers to do it." She sighed and rubbed her forehead. "That's what the meeting was about - trying to keep that from happening."

Yeah, it had been a lot better for her lately. Except for that whole "shoved down the stairs" thing, but that was in the past. And there were bigger things to worry about, it looked like.

Tara had been in the middle of leaning back in her chair when she heard the news. As soon as the realization hit her, she grabbed for the nearest flat surface to pull herself back up, but wasn't quick enough and ended up falling backwards. (Fortunately, she didn't get hurt this time.)

"Are you kidding?!" she practically shouted as she scrambled back to her feet. "You're kidding, right?"

Rosette was out of her chair the second Tara toppled hers over, but the younger girl was already getting back to her feet as Rosette crossed the room. She hadn't hurt herself. Good.

"Believe me, I wish I was," she replied, hand to her forehead. "But nope, it's there in black and white. Harry's got the file. It's going to make life really interesting." Of course really interesting was a thinly veiled hell on wheels, but Rosette figured she should be used to that at this point in time.
